Batch Type Powder Coating Booths

A batch type powder coating booth is an enclosed or semi-enclosed workstation engineered specifically for low-to-medium volume production, custom jobs, or oversized parts that cannot be processed on a continuous automated conveyor line. Unlike conveyorized systems that move parts non-stop, a batch booth relies on a stop-and-go workflow: parts are manually or mechanically loaded into the booth, coated statically using electrostatic spray guns, and then removed before the next “batch” enters.

The core functionality of these booths hinges on airflow control and powder containment. They are equipped with powerful exhaust fans that draw air inward through the open front or side doors, keeping airborne powder from escaping into the wider shop environment and protecting the operator. This air passes through a multi-stage filtration system—typically utilizing cartridge filters or a cyclone separator—that captures the oversprayed, non-adhered powder.

Because the booth stays stationary and independent from the curing oven, it offers operators immense flexibility. You can rapidly change powder colors, adjust spray techniques for highly complex geometries, or accommodate vastly different part sizes on the fly. This makes batch booths an incredibly cost-effective, versatile cornerstone for custom job shops, automotive restorers, and industrial manufacturers who value adaptability over massive, repetitive volume.
